documentation:configure_device

Manually configuring a positioning device

NOTE: this will be outdated once (if!) Scott updates the device drivers so that we could modify this information from the SDK (by reading from an easy-to-edit config textfile and then saving these to the filter via sSetConfig)

airs_full_device_config.sdc - If you have no devices loaded into Streams5 yet, you can use File –> Load Device Configuration File to load all devices at once

  • Select a device by clicking on it, then right-click on it and choose “Configure Device”

  • You will see a configuration dialog such as one of these. Make sure that Log samples to external file is checked, that you specify a log file (in C:\\FORESTRY), and that the COM port number is correct for the device

The log filenames you see in the images are full names, they didn't get cut off (C:\FORESTRY\StreamsGPS,C:\FORESTRY\StreamsIMU, and C:\FORESTRY\StreamsLRF). Streams5 will append extensions of .gps, .wbd, and .las respectively. AIRSLoader is set to timestamp the names after recording is finished, such as C:\FORESTRY\StreamsGPS_2006.7.12–17.23.11.01.gps
