- May, 2008: "Towards unconstrained face recognition." (Gary B. Huang, Manjunath Narayana, and Erik Learned-Miller) is accepted for publication at the Workshop on Perceptual Organzation in Computer Vision (POCV) at CVPR'08.
- May, 2008: Professor Learned-Miller will be running a workshop titled Faces in Real-Life Images at this years European Conference on Computer Vision with co-organizers Andras Ferencz and Frederic Jurie.
- March, 2008: Vidit Jain's paper titled "Selective Hidden Random Fields: Exploiting Domain-Specific Saliency for Event Classificationi" is accepted for publication at CVPR'08.
- January, 2008: Jerod Weinman accepts tenure track faculty position at Grinnell College! Congratulations to Jerod!
- October, 2007 : Erik Learned-Miller selected as Outstanding Reviewer for ICCV 2007.
- October, 2007 : The Vision Lab has published a new database of faces, Labeled Faces in the Wild for studying the problem of unconstrained face recognition.
- October, 2007 : Lab members present two papers at ICCV in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
- July, 2007 : Professors Learned-Miller and Hanson receive a grant from the National Eye Institute to develop technology to assist people with visual impairments.
- February, 2007 : Vision Lab meetings will be held Thursdays from 4:00-5:00 pm in room 304 of the Computer Science Building. Everyone is welcome but please read the paper for the week if you plan to attend. Papers will be sent out to the vismeetlist preceeding the talk.
- April, 2006 : Professor Erik Learned-Miller has received a 5-year NSF CAREER Award entitled, 'Toward a Self-Taught Vision System'.
