- October, 2008: Vision Lab alumnus Matthew Blaschko receives Best Student Paper award at ECCV 2008 for his paper "Learning to Localize Objects with Structured Output Regression".
- October, 2008: Professor Learned-Miller will be running a workshop titled Faces in Real-Life Images at this year's European Conference on Computer Vision with co-organizers Andras Ferencz and Frederic Jurie.

- June, 2008: Vision Lab alumnus Matthew Blaschko receives Best Paper award at CVPR 2008 for his paper "Beyond Sliding Windows: Object Localization by Efficient Subwindow Search".
- June, 2008: "Efficiently Learning Random Fields for Stereo Vision with Sparse Message Passing" (Jerod Weinman, Lam Tran, Chris Pal) is accepted for publication at ECCV 2008.
- May, 2008: "Towards unconstrained face recognition." (Gary B. Huang, Manjunath Narayana, and Erik Learned-Miller) is accepted for publication at the Workshop on Perceptual Organzation in Computer Vision (POCV) at CVPR'08.

- October, 2007 : Erik Learned-Miller selected as Outstanding Reviewer for ICCV 2007.
- October, 2007 : The Vision Lab has published a new database of faces, Labeled Faces in the Wild for studying the problem of unconstrained face recognition.
- October, 2007 : Lab members present two papers at ICCV in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
- July, 2007 : Professors Learned-Miller and Hanson receive a grant from the National Eye Institute to develop technology to assist people with visual impairments.
- February, 2007 : Vision Lab meetings will be held Thursdays from 4:00-5:00 pm in room 304 of the Computer Science Building. Everyone is welcome but please read the paper for the week if you plan to attend. Papers will be sent out to the vismeetlist preceeding the talk.
